We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated Web Master and Developer with a creative edge to join the team.
Your job will be primarily focused on web management, development and support for the corporate websites, e-commerce/online store and other web-based initiatives. Working in a team environment, you will manage the web portfolio and will undertake management, programming, analysis and testing tasks to execute proactive enhancements and support both marketing- and IT- driven web projects.
The ideal candidate must keep abreast of new technologies, understand how to implement them, and know which ones will best align with the strategy of the portfolio. The candidate will be a highly motivated web strategist, a talented coder and a collaborative thinker. S/he will be comfortable and adept at self-management and have a talent for identifying ways to increase efficiency and improve the overall online user experience.
This position is based in Vancouver, Canada.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Manage, monitor, improve, and update the technical performance of the website, including the e-commerce engine
• Lead R&D effort in development of mechanisms to enhance online consumer experience and interaction
• Work together with the Graphic Designer and Communications Manager to implement graphics, animations, layouts and day-to-day content updates
• Develop web page infrastructure and cutting-edge applications related to pages
• Analyze web requirements and highlight potential business or technical risks
• Develop and implement analytic mechanisms to track and report usage and site/software statistics
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing web applications
• Participate in application testing, documentation and deployment
• Advise marketing team on the improvement, results, competition and new direction in technology to assist with marketing of the brand
• Work in close collaboration with the engineering team on other web related projects
Skills / Attributes Required
• Minimum two-year diploma in IT/Web Services supplemented by at least two years in a professional web manager position
• Extensive experience in .Net using C# and SQL Server
• Experience coding e-commerce backend sites (working with payment gateways, admin sites, Paypal, etc.)
• PHP experience a definite asset
• Strong web design skills including the ability to edit HTML and JavaScript skills
• Proven website management experience including content management and navigation design experience as demonstrated by previous work
• Knowledge of Web 2.0 apps and trends including social media sites, video repositories, photo galleries and blogs
• Thorough knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Self starter and strong team player
• Ability to multi-task and establish priorities and schedule work to meet deadlines
