Marketing Communications Manager

Reporting to the VP Marketing, the Marketing Communications manager will assist in the development of marketing and communications strategies and, working with a graphic designer, web manager and external PR team, will manage the production of a wide range of printed and electronic communication tools and products, the planning and execution of various marketing initiatives and coordination of events.

The ideal candidate has the ability to work independently using an above average level of initiative and judgment. He or she has excellent organizational skills, is able to plan and prioritize multiple and changing demands, and has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
This position is for a one year term with possibility of extension and is based in Vancouver, Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Create and manage execution of of internal and external communications assets including: datasheets, external sales collateral, internal sales bulletins, PowerPoint and flash presentations, website content, e-marketing campaigns
- Work with product management, sales and engineering to create campaign calendars; coordinate promotional activities and follow up on tactical implementation
- Ensure message, brand and reputation consistency across publications/written communications
- Together with the VP Marketing, manage and direct the external Public Relations agency and assist with content, information or organizational requirements
- Manage and update the intranet; make recommendations for and implement alternate internal communications systems
- Monitor media mentions (traditional and social media) and manage when appropriate
- Research and stay current on emerging trends, best practices and opportunities in the field of communications with the goal of improving the execution of communications

REQUIREMENTS:

- University degree in Marketing and Communications and a minimum five to eight years' recent marketing and/or project management related experience
- Strong written, organizational, communication and presentation skills
- Proven experience with integrated marketing communications campaigns including direct mail, e-marketing campaigns, campaign websites, collateral, social media; Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine advertising (SEA) is an asset
- Proficiency in all MS Office Programs; Experience with Content Management Systems an asset
- Ability to work under pressure and with minimum supervision on multiple projects with tight deadlines
- Experience in the technology sector is an asset
