SBIA Community Patrol (Vancouver East Side)

Contemporary International Canada (CIC) is currently accepting applications for Supervisors and Guards who will operate in the capacity of patrol team members for the Strathcona Business Improvement Association's Security Patrol.





These positions are to be considered "ambassador like" in nature with a concentrated effort of delivery services being focused on assisting ALL residents of the DTES in a positive and supportive manner. The patrol will consist of utilizing a vehicle as well as bicycles, with foot patrols being conducted on each block of the designated areas. Employment is to commence on the 1st of November, 2009 with day shifts running throughout the winter months.





Responsibilities include:





o Assisting business owners and residents with any security related issues that may arise during the course of your shift


o Ensure community assistance programs that are available (e.g. waste reporting, homelessness awareness, shelter locations, addiction centres, etc.) are reported to those who may require assistance


o Act as an ambassador within the community and for the community


o Ensure all necessary reports are completed and filed (daily activity reports, incident reports, etc.)


o Contribute to the overall success of the patrol team





Qualifications





o Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required


o BST training and mandatory provincial licensing is required,


o Drivers license and clean abstract for mobile portion of contract


o Desire to assist all members of the SBIA community
