We currently have an opening for a talented individual to lead and grow a team responsible for software testing. In this leadership role you will report to the Director of QA and lead a QA team for SOA type platform web services testing. The successful candidate must be well versed in all aspects of API web services testing with extensive experience in managing test projects. This role includes shaping the next-generation architecture for our products. As part of this new architecture, QA will leverage technologies and web services to develop a new generation of manual and automated tests. These tests will cover functional tests, system-level tests, performance tests, and stress/reliability tests. You will contribute to the definition, pilot implementation, and roll-out of this QA approach.
Position Duties & Responsibilities
• Establishing quality goals, testing strategies, test planning, reviewing test scenarios, reporting testing status and quality metrics, and release criteria
• Building, mentoring, and managing a world class testing team doing black box and white box testing as well as automation testing
• Implementing quality processes that start at the beginning of the development cycle and continue through deployment and live site monitoring
• Gathering, analyzing, and monitoring progress and trends to ultimately reduce risk and improve the quality of deliverables to our customers and end users
• Interfacing productively with cross-functional counterparts at all levels of management and across geographical and cultural boundaries
• Effectively working with a variety of development and testing methodologies, deployment environments, and tools
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics, engineering, or the sciences
• Minimum 5 years experience in leading QA or engineering teams in a software development company managing multiple projects, leads, and individual contributors while effectively partnering with development and solving problems that cross organizational boundaries
• Extensive experience with Data Services, SOA Testing, Client-Server, Multi-Tier and Web based testing techniques
• Experience developing or setting up test automation for web services or SOA
• A proven track record in implementing and using automation tools and strategies
• A solid understanding of end-to-end workflow testing that focuses on the customer and end user experience
• Experience releasing high quality scalable web 2.0 services and applications, preferably with web applications using Microsoft .net, Apache Web Server, Microsoft SQL server, and at least one automation toolset
• Must be familiar with industry-best-practices and tools in quality and product development
• Experience with large complex applications and scalable rich internet services and server side testing
• Experience influencing an organization to adopt new best practices and tools and a belief that quality goes beyond finding bugs
• Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated in dealing with colleagues, direct reports, and customers
