We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Superintendent to lead a team of technical specialists accountable for maintaining mail handling and processing equipment in optimal condition and in line with approved operational and legislated requirements. You will ensure that preventative maintenance programs are executed in accordance with maintenance plans, schedules and standards and achieve optimum equipment performance through the development and application of approved changes and adjustments. This role will see you operate a work planning and scheduling system while promoting and maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring that labour and material resources are adequate to execute maintenance programs, repairs and approved project activities. You will also be called upon to oversee the execution of corrective maintenance, breakdown maintenance and overhauls.

The successful candidate will:
• Coordinate the implementation of all maintenance programs for mail processing and handling equipment so that the equipment meets set performance standards (KPI) and legislated requirements
• Achieve optimum equipment performance through the execution of preventative maintenance programs to meet maintenance plans, schedules and standards
• Oversee a work planning and scheduling system capable of providing cost estimation, cost control and reporting
• Maintain corrective and breakdown maintenance activities in order to maximize equipment availability
• Promote and maintain a safe working environment by providing appropriate training, documentation, personal protective equipment, tools and established procedures
• Ensure safety is at the forefront of all work practices and encourage ideas and initiative among team members
• Establish and maintain staffing profiles to effectively execute programs and repairs and carry out the full range of staff management functions at the first management level
• Ensure that labour and material resources are adequate to execute maintenance programs and repairs and provide up to date technical reference material for the use of plant maintenance staff
• Provide technical support to implement and monitor approved projects
• Manage material handling contracts with external contractors
• Interface between CPC and facilities management and, in some locations, manage contracted building services
• Keep abreast of new technologies, maintenance and management practices through job related training
• Ensure, through succession planning and training, a continuous development of competent staff for Technical Services

Job requirements (Education and Work experience):

• Post secondary diploma in a technical discipline
• At least 3 years of supervisory experience in an industrial environment
• Experience working with the Microsoft Office 2003 suite and SAP
