The position will be most attractive to an individual who is looking to contribute to a wide range of online marketing initiatives for a fast growing online business and has a strong understanding of online marketing strategies and tactics. The individual should be enthusiastic about learning and energized by the prospect of taking ownership of a variety of marketing projects for an exciting new web startup. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment which values action, creativity, initiative and team work.

The Online Marketing Specialist will be responsible for consumer traffic acquisition across a variety of online direct response marketing channels. Responsibilities will include all aspects of campaign development such as planning, launching, optimizing/testing, analytics reporting and interpreting campaign performance. The primary areas of focus will include driving key SEO / SEM initiatives, supporting on key partnerships, developing affiliate relationships and reporting on campaign performance using Google Analytics & related data analytics tools to ensure ROI is being maximized and campaign goals are being reached.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Driving SEO / SEM performance by supporting keyword research, competitive intelligence, link building, content development, landing page testing and related search marketing activities

- Providing support on key partner & affiliate strategies

- Campaign optimization based on detailed analysis of results from select tests and experiments

- Monitoring the marketplace, competitive landscape, industry trends, and third party data sources to constantly identify new marketing opportunities and / or potential threats

- Analyze and regularly report on data from a variety of web analytics tools across various campaign segments

Skills

- 1-3 years marketing experience in a campaign management capacity in Internet advertising and marketing, SEO/SEM, online lead generation, and/or direct response marketing

- Experience working for an online property which is transaction-based and dependent on consumer conversion is an asset

- Undergraduate degree (business or marketing focus preferred)

- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with the ability to make data-justified business decisions (a high level of proficiency in the use of MS Excel required and a basic working familiarity with applied statistics a plus)

- Extremely detail oriented with experience in web analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Omniture SiteCatalyst (Google Website Optimizer experience a plus)

- Basic to intermediate understanding of SEO concepts and strategies

- Experience in affiliate marketing or program management is an asset

- Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising experience is an asset

- Demonstrated ability managing multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Demonstrated initiative, drive and teamwork skills

- Strong attention to detail

- A desire to play a key role in shaping the future and growth of an exciting online business
