Webmaster

go2 is BC’s tourism and hospitality human resource association helping the industry to recruit, retain and train to support industry growth.

We currently have a full-time opportunity for a Webmaster. Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications, the Webmaster is responsible for monitoring, improving, and updating go2’s two websites: go2hr.ca (an information portal) and servingitright.com (an online course which includes e-commerce).

JOB DUTIES AND TASKS:

Liaison – including relationship and contract management - with external resources/developers/designers/hosts/domain name providers/SSL certificates etc.
Troubleshoot technical and maintenance problems encountered by customers and internal users
Conduct website analytics and prepare reports
Lead the development and implementation of SEO strategy
Ensure security/backup of website technology/code/passwords, etc.
Collaborate with management, business units and external resources to determine the websites’ purpose, functions, requirements and long-term strategy
Work with internal and external resources to ensure effective user experience including identifying and prioritizing front-end usability and back-end administrative improvements
Perform basic HTML/CSS programming
Provide input to annual budget and track spending to budget
Create the infrastructure, policies, procedures etc. to ensure efficient content management including training staff on use of CMS and maintaining up-to-date documentation of CMS administrative manual
Perform testing and ensures quality control for website development work
Support development and implementation of website marketing, partnership and linking programs
Research emerging technologies and services such as new media and Web 2.0 applications and make recommendations to management
Support the development of the Serving It Right e-learning application and content management system (including supporting developers, documenting requirements, performing quality assurance testing, etc.)
Perform other related duties as required


Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

Relevant post-secondary education and experience
Excellent knowledge of websites, web design and usability, and website development process
Experience with commonly used website programs such as HTML and CSS
Knowledge of and interest in leading edge website/new media applications and trends, including Web 2.0
Ability to take initiative, manage projects and meet deadlines
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Accurate and efficient keyboarding (numeric & alpha) skills and attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work independently as well as with a team
