VB .Net Developer

Position Highlights:
In the Senior VB .Net Developer role you will bring your technical expertise within the Information Services and Business Transformation Services team. You will oversee and support a large internal application portfolio that supports the 2 divisions’ day-to-day operations. Your focus will be on ensuring the applications meet end user requirements, raising awareness of the applications with the user communities and execute relevant sustainment projects. You will also be responsible for making recommendations on application and process improvements based on current IT best practices and industrial trends. You will form strong ties with the Architecture, Delivery and Infrastructure teams. The ideal candidate will be a goal-driven team player who has excellent technical leadership, communication and problem solving skills.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of Visual Basic, .Net, ASP, SQL and MS Access programming experience in delivering large scale projects.
• 2+ years experience with 3rd party .Net components.
• Proficiency in Windows operating system including XP, 2003Server, 2008Server and 7.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and problem solving skills.
• Understanding of IT best practices and industry trends.
• Working knowledge of Solaris, MS Word and Excel macro, crystal report, DB2 and Java SE are desirable.
