We have an opening for an experienced Technical Systems Analyst to join our Development team. This role will appeal to a person with a technical background, with a proven track record of feature requirements analysis and preparation of functional specifications. The Systems Analyst fills a crucial role throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
Position Duties & Responsibilities:
• Partner with the Product Manager to conduct analysis of requirements with a clear understanding of existing technical design constraints
• Lead efforts to translate the product requirements into detailed Software Requirements Specifications (SRS) that enable the design and implementation of product solutions
• Work with the development team to translate the SRS into System Test Cases to promote Test Driven Development methodology and support Test Automation
• Take a broader view of the functionality of the system and how it fits into overall enterprise objectives and direction, recommending enhancements and new business requirements as necessary
• Conduct functional acceptance testing of implemented features and functionality
• Position self as a subject matter expert to provide consultative, technical, and staff support as appropriate to teammates and project stakeholders
Qualifications and Core Competencies:
• 3 or more years of related experience as a Systems or Business Analyst
• Bachelor's degree in Business or Computer Sciences
• Experience with web-based applications
• Strong analytical skills to conduct and document use cases and system flow analysis using appropriate diagramming methods (UML, DFD, cross-functional diagrams, ERD, etc.) to break down high level requirements
• Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle
• Ability to quickly translate requirements into ready-to-use specification documents, reconcile conflicting requirements, and perform gap analysis
• Ability to review and understand technical design specifications
• Knowledge or experience working with Test Driven Development and agile/iterative development methodologies
• Prior experience with test automation tools and techniques is a definite asset
• Strong communication skills in collaborating with various technical groups to reach joint implementation solutions
• Demonstrated effective teamwork to foster strong team dynamics and a collaborative working environment
• Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects concurrently
• Proven ability to work with minimal or no supervision and meet deadlines
• Demonstrated innovation and creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and mindsets
