Description:
Backbone is Canada's most recognized business/technology/lifestyle print magazine (distributed through The Globe and Mail) and we are looking for an Advertising Sales and Marketing Representative in our Vancouver head office to work closely with the Publisher on special magazine ad supplement sales, online ads and marketing initiatives. We are going into our ninth year of publishing and are looking to take the publication to new levels. We have a small but very comfortable management and sales office here in North Vancouver while most other operations (editing, writing, printing, agency sales and design) are based mostly in Toronto.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
•A minimum of 1-3 years of advertising sales experience
•Sales experience in the computer technology IT industry an asset
•Is enthusiastic, well-educated and has excellent communication skills
•Has experience preparing written sales proposals and creative presentations
•Experience in client prospecting/cold calling
•Able to meet sales quotas and targets
•Marketing experience, initiative and follow through
•Has excellent sales and negotiating skills
•Post-secondary degree or diploma
•Familiar with Maximizer or Act, sales and CRM data base software
•Work with minimal supervision
•Provide detailed sales reports on a regular basis
