Currently, we have openings for Specialty Store Managers in our Fruits & Passion / Sea to Sky stores at Vancouver Airport.





Reporting to the District Manager, your goal is to manage both retail stores while increasing sales and contribution, decreasing expenses, hiring, training and terminating staff, serving customers and managing the stock in order to increase profits. Using your good product knowledge, you will provide fast, courteous customer service in order to achieve sales. You will complete weekly sales paperwork showing orders received, overages and shortages, markdowns and markups from promotions, price increases, invoices, etc.





Job Description





• Monitoring inventory and re-ordering products on a timely basis (achieve maximum sales, keep stock at a reasonable level)


• Merchandising products properly (attract customers, reducing shrinkage, obtaining maximum sales)


• Communicating compiling of weekly sales, product (commitments, sales, counts, etc.) and other information to District Manager/ Director of Operations on a timely basis.


• Recruiting, hiring, supervising, disciplining and discharging store staff in accordance with policies and legislation.


• Coaching, motivating, evaluating and supervising all staff so that the store is run efficiently at all times. This includes giving feedback and training staff how to handle paperwork, receive merchandise, handle cash, price, stock and straighten shelves, etc.


• Balancing cash daily, calling in coin order and making bank deposits. Balancing and ordering other items such as supplies in the proper quantities to ensure store efficiency.


• Opening and closing the stores according to company procedures and schedules ensuring that staff follows procedures accurately.





Requirements





The ideal candidate has a college diploma in Retail management or related discipline. You must have over 2 years experience in a retail/merchandising/sales position with at least 1 year of supervisory experience. Previous retail experience in a Tourist Boutique Retail environment merchandising fragrances, lotions, soaps, skincare or specialty confection experience is a definite asset. You must have strong communication, organizational skills, good time management and coaching skills. You must be able to set priorities, establish goals, and understand financial statements and budgets. You must also be able to operate office equipment, cash register, pricing gun, ladder, cart, and use lotto machine. The ability to lift materials and stand for long periods is also required.
