Wage: $13.32 per hour


Entitlements: as per the Collective Agreement

Hours of work: No guaranteed hours, on-call only


Vehicle required: No





JOB SUMMARY:


Accepts donated items and products and assists with preparation of items for sale in retail thrift store. Provides customer service to all paying and gift certificate customers. Gift certificate customers are NSCSS clients and men, women and children in need who are referred by other community social service agencies. Maintains and/or sets up product displays, processes transactions and performs other related duties.





QUALIFICATIONS:


• Retail or related experience preferred.





SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


• Possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.


• Ability to effectively work with a diverse and disadvantaged clientele in a patient manner.


• Ability to effectively work with the public, fellow employees and volunteers.


• Ability to take direction as needed.


• Ability to maintain personal and professional boundaries.


• Knowledge and sensitivity of issues faced by women who have experienced abuse.





ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:





Candidate must be willing to work Saturdays and/or Sundays.





The Good Stuff Connection provides services to abused women and there is a level of risk involved. This position includes lifting and moving of fixtures, signs and in-kind donations (i.e. bags of clothing). This position also requires a criminal record check by the police.
