Sales Associate (Gap Guilford Town Center)

The Sales Associate position is a fun yet demanding position that is integral to the customer experience. GENERAL SUMMARY:





-Generates sales through customer engagement and supporting a consistent brand experience. Works as a member of the store team to lead a positive customer and brand experience. Assists in executing and supporting operational activities that generate sales.


-Displays a "Customer Focused" mindset at all times


-Contributes to a positive work environment by consistently treating all Gap Brand customers and employees with respect


-Promotes a safe working and shopping environment to maximize the customer experience


-Upholds all company policies as outlined in the policy and procedures manual, Code of Business Conduct, and the Employee Policy Guide


-Stays current on financial goals and priorities set forth by the management team, as it relates to the customer


-Communicates information to customers about the quality, value and style of Gap products, such as fit, fabric, price and shrinkage


-Provide courteous, helpful customers service throughout the store, including the Sales Floor, Fitting Room, and CashWrap


-Offers suggestions to the leadership team to improve sales and operational processes


-Sets the example by role modeling PVB to provide great customer service


-Suggests a GapCard to every customer, informing them of the benefits


-Handles customer situations in compliance with policy and procedures; escalates issues as appropriate


-Treats all customers with respect consistently and contributes to a positive work environment


-Completes job specific training


-Supports the execution of all shipment receiving and processing procedures to customer-ready standards


-Completes floor replenishment to ensure customer satisfaction and size availability


-Maintain store standards per Visual Presentation Assessment (VPA) direction to enhance customer shopping experience


-Enforces all Loss Prevention policies, and communicates violations to the leadership


team or the Code of Business Conduct Hotline


-Supports high standards of organization and cleanliness on sales floor


-Reports to Customer Experience Manager, Brand Experience Manager, and all subordinate supervisory personnel


-Collaborates effectively across both the Customer Experience and Brand Experience work centers


-Exhibits peer coaching and facilitates training of new Sales Associate





Qualifications





-Excellent selling skills


-Excellent time management skills


-Ability to delegate and prioritize tasks and responsibilities


-Excellent communication and organizational skills


-Ability to receive feedback and take action when appropriate


-High School graduate or equivalent


-Six months of customer service experience preferred


-Previous retail experience preferred


-Experience handling cash preferred


-Ability to safely lift and carry 30 lbs.


-Ability to maneuver around the store and stockroom


-Open availability and flexibility to work nights, weekends, store openings and closings, to meet the needs of the business
