The Hastings North Community Partners Group, a coalition of community agencies in East Vancouver, is seeking an organized and dynamic special events coordinator to work with us to collaboratively develop and implement special events that celebrate and strengthen our community.

This position reports to a project steering committee and is an employee of Kiwassa Neighbourhood House. This position is 18 hours per week, and is funded for one year, with the hope that funding will be renewed.

Key Responsibilities:
• Collaboratively plan and develop, in partnership with the steering committee, special events and festivals that brings our diverse community together
• Coordinate the implementation of community events, working with groups and individuals
• Create and implement communications and marketing plans to promote events and involve the community
• Engage and support residents as volunteers and participants
• Coordinate and support community small grants: applications and selection processes
• Participate in evaluation processes and shared learning with the steering committee;
• Write reports and grant proposals, maintain statistics, databases and administrative files, and manage program budget.

Qualifications:
