Cobalt Engineering LLP, located in the heart of downtown Vancouver, is searching for a talented and dynamic Accounting Assistant to provide support services to our engineering team.

The Administrative Assistant is the first line of communication with our clients and a key contributor to our team. Working closely with our management, engineers and clients, the Administrative Assistant holds a support role responsible for coordinating and executing all administrative projects and activities
The Position
The accounting assistant will provide support to our entire finance team who are arranged by accounting area. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this is an intermediate accounting position that will require the selected candidate to offer support in all major areas of accouting. This will include: workload spreadsheet entry, updating and reporting, responsibility for smaller company records to financial statements (to year end), and assist the Finance team as required.
Primary Accountabilities include:
Accounts Receivable
Fixed Fee invoices are generated in the last week of the month or as required by the client
Hourly invoices are generated in the first three days of the first week of the following month
Cash receipt entry
Open and close job files
Workload
Entry and updating of Team Production and Billing spreadsheets
Weekly summary reporting
Project Enrollments
Enter approved contracts into accounting system and spreadsheets
Close projects in accounting system, on a monthly basis, when complete
Other
Assist the Finance team in other accounting areas as needed
Candidate Profile
CGA/CMA program 4-5 level
Minimum 2 years of accounting experience preferably in a consulting or construction company
Extensive accounting knowledge
A/R and A/P experience
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be self-motivated
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Experience using Sage Timberline accounting software is an asset
