Job Description


- Diagnose and analyze causes of equipment failure.


- Troubleshoot complex Electro-mechanical, Hydraulic and Electronic systems to identify malfunctions.


- Perform Electrical, Mechanical & Hydraulic modifications.


- Work with electronic test equipment to diagnose/isolate faults.


- Work both independently and as a part of a team to find problem-solving solutions.


- Follows all safety protocols and ensures that work is done in compliance with DOT, BTNA, and customer's regulations.


- Communicates with customer's representatives, vendors and internal contacts.


- All work is conducted in a rail yard environment, which has potential for working in inclement weather and around high voltages and heavy moving equipment.


- Ability to lift 40 lbs, climb, crouch and kneel for prolonged periods of time is expected.


- Diligent with paperwork and reporting is paramount.





Candidate Profile


Works under supervision to troubleshoot all railcar systems and properly identify malfunctions. Responsible for troubleshooting and fault detection of Electrical, Mechanical, & Hydraulic systems. Must be capable of reading Electrical schematics & wiring schematics. Works extensively with manual and power tools. Conducts static testing using electronic diagnostic equipment. Provides management with accurate and timely reports. Readiness to work flexible shift and overtime is essential. Will require to work late night shifts from 1:00 am to 4:00 am, at least a few times a week.





Candidate Skills


- Background in Transportation, Aviation, Industrial, Automotive, Electronics, or similar industry is required.


- Experience working as a full time Electro-Mechanical or Electronic Technician


- Associate Degree from an accredited college or technical school is preferred (can be substituted for equivalent experience)


- Must have experience using PLC and have CAN bus knowledge
