Role Mandate:


The District Loss Prevention Supervisor is responsible for developing LP field staff and store colleague’s knowledge of operational causes of shrink and the role of Loss Prevention. This will be accomplished through mentoring, developing, motivating and evaluation of their team while identifying, understanding and responding to specific district needs, in close partnership with the respective District Manager of Operations.





Accountabilities:


• Shrink reduction – support diverse operational initiatives relative to shrink and waste management. This requires analyzing key financial reports to ensure that Loss Preventions strategies are obtaining the desired results.


• Objectivity – while working in close partnership with the District manager of Operations, it is critical that the District Supervisor maintains clear objectivity and communicates and escalates issues when warranted.


• LAR (Loblaw Accountability Report) – in partnership with the District Manager of Operations, conduct an objective quarterly audit in each corporate store with weekly follow-up on exceptions.


• Integrity investigations – conduct investigations and interviews, in a timely and professional manner utilizing behavioral analysis techniques, of all colleagues suspected to be involved or witness to illegal activity such as theft or fraud.


• Ensure that LP field staff respects the apprehension protocol and review all apprehension and incident reports for compliance as well as coaching opportunities.


• Ensure compliance to all loss prevention and operational policy and procedures through regular, documented, store tours.


• Ensure that all loss prevention partners have received the necessary training, while fostering two of our corporate values – getting better everyday and respect for the individual.


• Ensure that the scheduling of all loss prevention partners, including hosts, meet the needs of each business unit. Pro-actively identify staffing issues and resolve accordingly.


• Maintain a positive working partnership throughout the organization (operations, all departments) as well as with local law enforcement, regulatory bodies, vendors and other retailers.


• Assess physical security needs and liaise with the necessary support teams when required.


• Provide exceptional service to all customers (internal/external).


• All other duties as required.





Role Requirements:


• Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in grocery retail with exposure to resolving shrink related issues. Experience in Loss Prevention is an asset.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.


• Strong computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook, PowerPoint) and strong analytical skills (financial reports such as Profit and Loss statements, inventory reconciliation, etc.).


• Question “why” thinker with a proven ability to quickly adapt to change.


• Demonstrated experience with coaching, conflict management and negotiation is an asset.


• Ability to respond at all times to critical issues and travel when required.


• Knowledge of operational systems and tools such as: front end system, computer assisted ordering, Telxon, price changes, etc.
