About the opportunity:


This role is responsible for ensuring all total rewards programs are aligned with the organization’s strategic direction and support the achievement of business objectives. Total rewards programs include compensation, benefits, pension and rewards/recognition.





Description


•Manages all compensation (base and incentive) programs to ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic direction and to support the achievement of business objectives.


•Develops recommendations for Executive Management on corporate compensation programs.


•Manages all benefits (includes financial benefits) and pension programs to ensure they support the organizations’ strategic direction, core purpose and values.


•Manages all rewards and recognition programs, including the Long Service program.


•Researches, develops, recommends and implements total rewards programs to facilitate achievement of targets while ensuring competitive compensation within our market. Ensures consistency and alignment across all compensation programs.


•Develops and recommends total rewards guidelines and practices.


•Effectively communicates all total rewards programs to new and existing employees.


•Makes recommendations on individual compensation to HR Advisors for all levels of the organization.


•Manages and administers total rewards programs and processes including variable pay, merit, total compensation statement, salary budget process, total rewards surveys, and You are Valued and long service programs, etc.


•Ensures position equity across the organization by working with the HR Advisors on job evaluation.


•Stays up to date on total rewards trends, information and competitive market.


•Ensures ongoing learning as appropriate for the position; ensures personal development plan is current; acts upon learning opportunities to maximize contributions.

Knowledge


•Degree in HR Management or HR Diploma plus additional experience


•Certificate in Compensation/Benefits Management – Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) preferred


•Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation preferred


•Complete understanding of compensation, benefits, pensions and rewards/recognition


•Complete understanding of computer programs including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Experience


4-6 years directly related experience


Experience in financial services/Credit Unions would be an asset
