Regional Sales Manager #2531 (Western Canada)

EBSCO Publishing, Ipswich MA, is the leading provider of electronic databases for libraries, schools, corporations, medical institutions and consumers worldwide. We are currently seeking a Regional Sales Manager for Western Canada who will sell our databases to target accounts in the Academic, Public and K-12 market. This territory includes BC, AB, MN, SK, Yukon, and the NW Territories.





Essential functions of this position include:





• Achieve an expert level of knowledge of EBSCO Publishing’s products and competition


• Provide balanced sales coverage of named accounts in his/her territory


• Coordinate selling strategy on all Target Accounts, direct efforts of Inside Sales Representatives, Field Sales Representative, and Archive Sales Representatives


• Have quotes prepared, literature sent, and coordinate with Inside Sales Representatives to set up trials when appropriate


• Develop sales strategy for region for overall sales of EBSCO Publishing products


• Provide field training of EBSCO Publishing products to Field Sales Representatives


• Travel with Field Sales Representatives at least 2 consecutive days every three months


• Provide quarterly reports to Senior Director of Sales on target account activity, training with Field Sales Representatives and overall territory strategy





Qualifications include a Bachelors degree and a basic understanding of computers and library research. Three years of Library Sales experience is strongly preferred. Management experience and 70% travel is required. Qualified applicants have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and strong analytical abilities. Candidates should live in Vancouver or Calgary.
